MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— If President Rodrigo R. Duterte\u2019s performance for his first three years in office would be graded, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said he would give the chief executive a nine out of 10 rating.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the scale of 10, it should be nine,\u201d Panelo said over a radio interview on Sunday.<\/p>\n

According to Panelo, the President had several achievements he previously mentioned, including the signing of measures to improve Filipinos’ lives, the move to an independent foreign policy, and developing Mindanao, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201c’Di mo ba nabasa yung listahan ng<\/em>\u00a0accomplishments\u00a0niya, walang presidenteng nakagawa ng ganun<\/em>\u00a0(Did you see the list of his achievements, there\u2019s no president who has ever done that),\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

Panelo, however, admitted that despite these achievements, there is still so much that needs to be done.<\/p>\n

He said that there is a need to improve a number of acts, including those that pertain foreign investments, retail trade, and public service.<\/p>\n

He said that there is also a need to monitor the implementation of the Build, Build, Build infrastructure program, support the creation of more rehabilitation centers, and pay closer attention to overseas Filipino workers and out-of-school youth.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarami pa kaya sabi ko<\/em>\u00a0(There\u2019s still so much he can do that\u2019s why I say) the best is yet to come despite\u00a0na marami na ngang nagawa ang Presidente<\/em>\u00a0(despite him having achieved so much already),\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

Panelo also pointed out that the President has stayed true to his promise of curbing corruption within government.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been firing left and right Cabinet officials, government officials, prosecuting errant officials,\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cKaya nakikita ng mga kababayan natin na ginagawa niya lahat para sirain ang kultura ng<\/em>\u00a0corruption\u00a0sa ating bansa<\/em>\u00a0(That\u2019s why our citizens can see he is doing everything to destroy the culture of corruption in our country),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Panelo assured that Filipinos can expect \u201cthe same number of significant achievements, if not more\u201d before the President steps down in 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
