MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Malaca\u00f1ang on Friday clarified that Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pi\u00f1ol continues to enjoy the trust and confidence of President Rodrigo R. Duterte following the former\u2019s resignation late this week.<\/p>\n

When asked to explain the Chief Executive\u2019s remarks that the agriculture chief is talkative but not corrupt, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo agreed that Pi\u00f1ol is not seen as corrupt.<\/p>\n

“Hindi, malakas lang. Kasi di ba komentarista dati iyon sa<\/em>\u00a0boxing.\u00a0Ibig sabihin<\/em>\u00a0(No, he’s just outspoken. Remember he was a commentator for boxing back then. That means) he enjoys the trust and confidence of the President,” Panelo said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the President is actually thinking of tapping Pi\u00f1ol to serve a post at the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).<\/p>\n
