(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PresSpokespersonPH\/photos\/a.397841807217544\/745713662430355\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PresSpokespersonPH\/\">Office of the Presidential Spokesperson\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Malaca\u00f1ang on Thursday shrugged off calls made by a senator asking the Duterte administration to consider recalling Philippine ambassador and consuls to China after a Chinese fishing vessel crew allegedly abandoned a sinking Filipino fishing boat in a &#8220;collision&#8221; in Recto Bank (Reed Bank) in the West Philippine Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, however, said he will leave the decision to withdraw envoys to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t need the advice of the good senator on that.<em>\u00a0Bahala na si<\/em>\u00a0(We\u2019ll leave it to) Secretary Locsin,\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Risa Hontiveros asked the government to withdraw Philippine envoys to China, condemning the acts of the China crew as \u201cdespicable\u201d and \u201cinhumane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Panelo said the government is considering \u201call options\u201d to resolve issues between the Philippines and China after the collision.<\/p>\n<p>He also rejected anew former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario\u2019s suggestion to consider multilateral talks with other parties to make China\u2019s leadership accountable.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo insisted that bilateral negotiations between the Philippines and China are currently the \u201cmost effective\u201d way to resolve the dispute over the contested waters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe (del Rosario) doesn\u2019t have to tell us what to do.
