“Asia’s Got Talent” Season 1 runner-up Gerphil Flores has achieved yet another milestone in her life as she graduates from her dream school.<\/p>\n

Gerphil shared on Thursday, June 6, on her social media accounts a photo of her wearing a graduation gown and cap while holding her diploma.<\/p>\n

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Music at the University of the Philippines (UP), the Filipino-German singer packed her things up and flew to Canada to study Art History at the University of British Columbia (UBC).<\/p>\n

“If there is one thing I learned in life that I will never get tired of sharing with others is that you should never stop learning. Learn more, discover more..” she wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

“I decided to study again. This time, I wanted to see the bigger view of what Art History (music, painting, sculpture, architecture, photography etc.) is all about,” she added.<\/p>\n

Although she was miles away from the Philippines for almost two years, Gerphil was glad to experience “riding a magical carpet” that took her to “a whole new journey” as she ventures to the world of Art at the UBC.<\/p>\n

For the classical singer, the best thing that one can find in the UBC was not its buildings nor the surroundings, but its diversity.<\/p>\n

“People from different cultures meet in this place. It will open your eyes and make you see what a wonderful world it is that we live in,” she shared.<\/p>\n

At the end of her post, she thanked her family, fianc\u00e9, and her Filipino and Canadian friends in Vancouver who motivated her in finishing her studies.<\/p>\n

“I will miss you, Canada! See you again real soon!” She said, as she also congratulates her fellow UBC graduates.<\/p>\n

Gerphil rose to fame when she auditioned for “Asia’s Got Talent” in 2015 where she received a golden buzzer from the one and only David Foster. She, however, lost to her fellow Filipinos, the shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra, who took home the first-ever “Asia’s Got Talent” title.<\/p>\n
