An actor with Filipino roots will be the new host of the much-awaited reboot of the 90’s classic children’s show “Blue’s Clues.”<\/p>\n

Nickelodeon recently dropped the first trailer for the reboot titled “Blue’s Clues & You,” introducing its new host, Filipino-American Broadway actor Joshua Dela Cruz.<\/p>\n

Joshua is the show’s third host, following the original host Steve Burns, known as “Steve,” and Donovan Patton, known as “Joe.”<\/p>\n

In a video shared by Nick Jr. on its Facebook page last September 2018, Joshua described his journey to be the new host of “Blue’s Clues” as “really wild.”<\/p>\n

“I auditioned for Blue’s Clues, Steve was in the room,” he recalled. “I was star-struck, but at the same time, immediately felt comfortable with him. He was just so generous with his time and with his energy. It was a huge huge moment for me to meet the person I was watching on TV, growing up and to find out that he was so cool,” he added.<\/p>\n

To be part of the show, Joshua said, made him “over the moon happy” and that he can no longer wait to show to everyone what they have worked on.<\/p>\n

Steve, for his part, gave his two thumbs up for Josh, whom he believes can “definitely fill my shoes and the rugby shirt,” referring to the iconic green striped shirt he always wore on the show.<\/p>\n

Last April, Joshua posted on his Instagram account a video clip showing Steve leaving the house to “go to college,” while his brother Joe stays with Blue, the animated blue-spotted dog.<\/p>\n

“I REMEMBER THIS EPISODE!! I felt so sad, almost as if one of my actual friends were leaving for college. It was one of those moments where [you] realize you\u2019re growing up and you won\u2019t stay a kid forever (in body anyways),” Joshua wrote in his caption.<\/p>\n

“And if someone were to tell me I would grow up to be the New Host of Blues Clues and You, I would have laughed. Growing up can be scary but the endless possibilities of what you can achieve are so much more exciting! I can\u2019t wait to bring the show to a whole new generation of clue hunters!” he added.<\/p>\n

Ending his post, the Fil-Am actor tagged the Instagram accounts of Steve and Donovan, thanking the two for making “such a positive impact” to his life.<\/p>\n

Prior to being cast in “Blue\u2019s Clues & You,” Joshua, an experienced actor, became an understudy in Broadway’s “Aladdin,” and was also part of “Here Lies Love,” “Encores! Merrily We Roll Along,” and “King and I.”<\/p>\n
