MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— Malaca\u00f1ang on Tuesday hailed a survey which showed that 44 percent of Filipinos are \u201cvery happy\u201d and 37 percent are \u201cvery satisfied\u201d with their lives.<\/p>\n

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo credited the first quarter Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, which also showed that 49 percent of Filipinos are \u201cfairly happy\u201d, to the \u2018meaningful change\u2019 that the government has achieved under President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe attribute these results to the optimistic and cheery disposition of Filipinos, and to the prevailing conditions of the country where streets are safe from crimes and drugs, cities are booming with massive infrastructure buildup, and the economy is on a positive turnaround,\u201d said Panelo in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is genuine, visible and meaningful change under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as validated by public sentiment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Panelo said the Duterte administration is committed to continue bringing comfortable and peaceful lives to over 106 million Filipinos.<\/p>\n

According to the survey conducted from March 28 to 31, the 44 percent of Filipinos who consider themselves \u201cvery happy\u201d is a 5 percent higher compared to the 39 percent recorded in December 2018.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the 49 percent of Filipinos who consider themselves \u201cvery satisfied\u201d is a three-point increase from 2018 fourth quarter\u2019s 34 percent.<\/p>\n

Mindanao had the most number of \u201cvery happy\u201d Filipinos at 58 percent and \u201cvery satisfied\u201d at 49 percent.<\/p>\n

The survey showed that only 7 percent of the 1,440 adult respondents have said they are \u201cnot very happy\u201d, while 1 percent are \u201cnot at all happy\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
