(Pexels Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ontario issued new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to Express Entry candidates with eligible French-speaking abilities in a draw held May 22.\u00a0<span id=\"more-12318\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 360 invitations were issued through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-express-entry-french-speaking-skilled-worker-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream<\/a>, which is one of three Ontario immigration pathways aligned with the federal Express Entry system.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Express Entry system<\/a>\u00a0is Canada\u2019s main source of skilled foreign labour and manages the pool of candidates for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/federal-skilled-worker-program-fswp.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Worker Class<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Trades Class<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream allows the OINP to search the Express Entry pool for Federal Skilled Worker Class and Canadian Experience Class candidates who meet its French and English proficiency requirements, among other selection criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/provincial-nomination-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a provincial nomination<\/a>\u00a0are awarded an additional 600 points toward their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence from the Government of Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario\u2019s French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream does not require a job offer in Ontario nor does it require a minimum CRS score in order to be eligible.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates,\u00a0however, must be able to understand, read, write and speak French at a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-language-benchmark-clb-descriptions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Language Benchmark<\/a>\u00a0(CLB) of 7 and have a CLB of 6 in those same four abilities in English, among other criteria.<\/p>\n<p>The May 22 draw was the sixth conducted through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream this year and the first since February 7.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 549 invitations have now been issued through the stream this year.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 2019 CICNews All Rights Reserved<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ontario issued new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to Express Entry candidates with eligible &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":205917,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-215970","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-immigration","mauthors-cic-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/215970","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=215970"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/215970\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":215971,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/215970\/revisions\/215971"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/205917"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=215970"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=215970"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=215970"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
