(Pexels Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alberta has released new information showing it held 14 draws through its Express Entry-aligned immigration stream so far in 2019, issuing a total of 3,357 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System scores as low as 300.\u00a0<span id=\"more-12283\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates nominated by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/alberta-provincial-nominee-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program<\/a>(AINP) receive an additional 600 points toward their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be considered for a nomination from Alberta, candidates must be eligible for one of the three federal immigration programs managed by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Express Entry system<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/federal-skilled-worker-program-fswp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Worker Class<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Skilled Trades Class<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 and have a profile in the Express Entry pool.<\/p>\n<p>Alberta is home to the cities of Edmonton and Calgary, which are both popular destinations for immigrants.\u00a0 Oil and gas production has long driven Alberta\u2019s economy, but information technology, health services and other industries are gaining in prominence as the province\u2019s government works to diversify beyond energy.<\/p>\n<p>Introduced last year, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/alberta-provincial-nominee-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alberta Express Entry Stream<\/a>\u00a0allows the province to search the federal Express Entry pool\u00a0for immigration candidates who meet specified eligibility requirements and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates must have a CRS score of at least 300 and be working in an occupation that \u201csupports Alberta\u2019s economic development and diversification priorities,\u201d among other criteria, in order to be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence from Alberta.<\/p>\n<p>While a job offer or previous work in Alberta is not required in order to be eligible, the AINP says candidates with a job offer and\/or work experience in Alberta, a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and\/or a parent, child or sibling already living in Alberta may be prioritized for an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 14 draws held in 2019, three invited Express Entry candidates with scores as low as 300.<\/p>\n<p>This is significantly lower than the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-invitations-to-apply-issued.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lowest score<\/a>\u00a0drawn through a federal Express Entry draw so far this year, which was 438.<\/p>\n<p>The largest Alberta Express Entry Stream draw held so far this year took place on March 5 and saw a total of 473 invitations, or Notifications of Interest (NOIs), issued.<\/p>\n<p>NOIs are issued to Express Entry candidates identified through a search of the federal pool by the AINP.
