(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PresSpokespersonPH\/photos\/a.397841807217544\/750918231909898\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PresSpokespersonPH\/\">Office of the Presidential Spokesperson\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Amid reports of vote-buying across the country in the recent midterm polls, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo on Tuesday suggested that government spend for the campaign of candidates running for public office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ako ang iniisip ko, alam ninyo kung ano, para walang gastos ang mga kandidato<\/em>\u00a0(You know what I\u2019m thinking, so that candidates won\u2019t have to spend), the government should spend for the expenses of the candidates just like in America,\u201d said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a Palace briefing.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo, however, clarified that this is his personal suggestion and he has yet to inform President Rodrigo Duterte about his idea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will ask him.
