MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— Malaca\u00f1ang on Tuesday said it will soon release a \u201cbombshell\u201d information on a group controlling Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed to be \u201cBikoy\u201d in a video series which linked President Rodrigo Duterte, his family, and allies in the illegal drug trade.<\/p>\n

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said it was obvious that Advincula, a convict facing multiple criminal cases, was only being used as a “pawn” by a group seeking to destroy the President and those close to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut (it\u2019s) very obvious\u00a0na<\/em>\u00a0(that) it\u2019s a black propaganda, and it\u2019s also obvious that he\u2019s only being\u2014parang ano lang siya rito<\/em>\u00a0(it\u2019s like he\u2019s only being used as a), pawn \u2013\u00a0ginagamit<\/em>,\u201d said Panelo in a Palace press briefing.<\/p>\n

As soon as verified, Panelo said he would release documents from the Philippine National Police (PNP) which will reveal the personalities behind Advincula and the controversial Bikoy videos.<\/p>\n

\u201cHindi ko lang muna pupuwedeng sabihin<\/em>, but\u00a0mayroong nakikita iyong mga nag-iimbestiga na<\/em>\u00a0could be a bombshell from the way I looked at it (I can\u2019t reveal it now, but investigators have seen bombshell information from the way I looked at it),\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

Asked if the group behind Advincula could be among those listed in the Oust Duterte matrix composed of journalists and lawyers, Panelo reiterated he will await investigation results of the PNP.<\/p>\n

Panelo said at present, he has no knowledge as to whether the group could include certain members of the opposition.<\/p>\n

Advincula, who surfaced on Monday, denied links to any media or lawyers\u2019 organizations, and political party seeking to discredit the President.<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from\u00a0iyong mga nandoon sa<\/em>\u00a0matrix,\u00a0mayroon pang isang\u2014isa o grupo sa likod ni Bikoy<\/em>. But\u00a0sa ngayon<\/em>, we will just be speculating\u00a0kaya mas gusto kong \u2018antayin iyong<\/em>\u00a0PNP (Apart from the ones on the matrix, there is another group behind Bikoy. But now, we will just be speculating that\u2019s why I prefer to wait for the results of the PNP),\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

Panelo described Advincula\u2019s appearance as a \u201csignificant development that will show that indeed there are people behind the ouster of the President\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause that video is definitely a move to discredit the President, for the people to lose trust in this President,\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

He, meanwhile, dismissed Advincula\u2019s claim that he sought legal assistance from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) due to threats to his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a pretended act,\u201d said Panelo, also Chief Presidential Legal Counsel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he exposed that video, he was hooded.\u00a0Sino ang magte-threat sa kanya kung naka-hooded siya? Tapos<\/em>\u00a0suddenly\u00a0haharap siya, sasabihin niya kaya ako lumabas dahil may<\/em>\u00a0threat\u00a0sa buhay ko<\/em>\u00a0(Who would threaten his life when he\u2019s hooded in the videos. And then suddenly, he\u2019ll say he surfaced because there\u2019s a threat to his life),\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Panelo cast doubt on Advincula’s credibility since many of his allegations have been debunked, including his claim that former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher \u201cBong\u201d Go had a tattoo on his back, which linked him to the illegal drug trade.<\/p>\n

The PNP has yet to assess whether Advincula needs security protection due to supposed threats to his life.<\/p>\n

Senator Panfilo Lacson, chair of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, is also seeking a congressional inquiry into Advincula\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
