Filipinos are continuing to make their mark in the international entertainment industry as London-based artist No Rome<\/em> becomes the first from the Philippines to perform at Coachella. <\/span><\/p>\n

No Rome, whose real name is Rome Gomez, was center stage at the iconic music festival last Friday, April 12, after English rock band The 1975\u2019s lead singer Matty Healy asked him to give a performance during their set. No Rome then came out singing \u201cNarcissist\u201d, which is a single from his EP <\/span>RIP Indo Hisashi<\/span><\/i>. It was co-produced by Matt and the band\u2019s drummer George Daniel. A preview of the performance was posted on The 1975\u2019s Twitter page captioned, \u201cLove this song! The 1975 brought out No Rome for \u2018Narcissist.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Beats 1, Matty even said that No Rome is his muse, explaining, \u201c<\/span>Rome kind of became a bit of a muse of mine once I was working on his stuff and then his ideas were on parallel with everything that me and George were doing. I just wanted that energy in the studio you know and he\u2019s been with us before. We\u2019ve been making the record for six months together so he\u2019s just been there working away.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201c<\/span>It’s so exciting to just be working with him and have so many ideas and ideas and ideas. It’s just great to be around. I just fell in love with it completely.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The Filipino artist will continue touring with the British Album of the Year-awarded band until the end of the year. They are set to perform in the Philippines this upcoming September 11.<\/span><\/p>\n
