Filipino Marvel fans indeed have a lot to look forward to especially now that the first look of the newest Filipino superhero to enter the Marvel Universe has been revealed.<\/p>\n

The official sketch of the hero named “Wave” was unveiled by comic book writer Greg Pak on his Twitter account on Saturday, March 9.<\/p>\n

“Remember when we said we were introducing a new Filipino superhero to the Marvel Universe in WAR OF THE REALMS: AGENTS OF ATLAS #1?” Greg wrote.<\/p>\n

He continued in another tweet, “As announced at @sxsw<\/span>, I’m thrilled to share the great @leinilyu<\/span>‘s stunning design of WAVE, Marvel’s new Filipino superhero! Gorgeous colors by @sunnygho<\/span>!”<\/p>\n

The heroine was co-created and designed by another Filipino, Leinil Yu, a comic book artist who works with Marvel.<\/p>\n

“When I first saw this, I was moved to tears. Thank you. Finally, we have a representation,” said netizen @SmittenKanojo.<\/p>\n

Budjette Tan, a Filipino writer who created comic series\u00a0Trese<\/em> which will be rolled out soon in Netflix, also replied to Greg’s announcement, saying, “Yeeehaaa!!! Mabuhay si<\/em>\u00a0(long live) Wave.”<\/p>\n

It was on February 15 when Marvel announced that Wave will team-up with other new heroes from China \u2014<\/b> Aero and Sword Master \u2014<\/b> to save the Earth from the baddies.<\/p>\n

While the appearance of the superhero, who is seen wearing a Black suit with a touch of Green and Gold and holding two swords, has been revealed, some fans are stoked to learn what could be the abilities of this “mysterious new Filipino heroine.”<\/p>\n

Guess they will have to find about it in the War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 <\/i>where Wave will first appear.<\/p>\n

Written by Greg with art by Gang-Hyuk Lim, this comic book, which “unites new and classic heroes” according to Marvel, will kick-off the four-issue War of the Realms<\/i> tie-in series this May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
