More than a week after Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray\u2019s statements about the end of her six-year relationship during her guesting on <\/span>Tonight with Boy Abunda <\/span><\/i>(TWBA) last February 22, ex-boyfriend model\/actor Clint Bondad decided to share his own clarifications on social media last Sunday, March 3.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a two-part Instagram video, Clint states that he completely agrees on Catriona\u2019s opinions about the breakup, even taking complete responsibility. The\u00a0 24-year-old shares, \u201cI was massively depressed for a long time and I literally blamed anything and everyone except our relationship. I wouldn’t even allow it in the realm of possibilities,\u201d adding, \u201cBut my protective personality and shielding of the relationship made me unable to see things clear and rational. It became counterproductive,\u201d referring to being so focused on the beauty queen that he had forgotten to take care of himself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Clint elaborates, \u201cLove truly can make you blind sometimes and make you do dumb stuff… No matter how smart you think you are. I failed because the control was always with me all along. I just realized it too late.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for his reaction to host Boy Abunda\u2019s question to Catriona asking \u201cCrown or relationship,\u201d where Catriona chose the former, Clint states, \u201cThe career of a beauty queen is so different in many ways to that of other career paths and even more extreme than that of an actor or public figure. Incomparable. Its a winner-takes-all situation and it kickstarts everything into motion with an explosion, but on top of it all, it’s compressed into a single year of reign,\u201d clarifying, \u201c It’s correct that the relationship was over the way we used to have it before the coronation. But we didn’t make it official in private until after the coronation. However, it was actually me who eventually and actively pushed to make it official.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Clint and Catriona met six years ago taping for a commercial which they co-starred in, both models being only 18\u00a0years old. In the TWBA interview, Catriona states that she and her ex-beau simply \u201coutgrew each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
