(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=1862412777135222&amp;set=pb.100000995544984.-2207520000.1551066885.&amp;type=3&amp;theater\">Photo:<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kristoferking22\">Kristofer King\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award-winning actor Christopher Reyes, better known as Kristoffer King, has passed away at 36 years old last Saturday, February 23 after being rushed to the intensive care unit at Adventist Medical Center Manila in Pasay City on the same day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The news was initially confirmed by the actor\u2019s guardian Sunny King, posting on social media, \u201cIt is with deep sadness that I share with you, our actor and friend, Kristoffer King has passed away at 8:45 p.m. today. May he rest in peace.\u201d Although there is no confirmation for Kristoffer\u2019s cause of death, his family has shared that he was a diabetic and suffered from heartburn, infection, pneumonia, and sciatica, losing his heartbeat within five minutes after arriving in the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kristoffer was born on May 22, 1982 and is known for his works in Director Brillante Mendoza\u2019s films, like \u201cMasahista\u201d (The Masseur), which was released in 2005 and \u201cFoster Child\u201d and \u201cTirador\u201d co-starring Coco Martin. Director Brillante, who was named 2009 Cannes Film Festival Best Director, paid tribute to Kristoffer hailing him as his \u201cbest actor.\u201d In 2008, Kristoffer even got to compete in the prestigious film festival in France in a film with Coco entitled \u201cSerbis.\u201d In 2016, King was featured in the ABS-CBN series \u201cAng Probinsyano,\u201d two years later appearing on GMA\u2019s shows \u201cInday Will Always Love You\u201d and \u201cThe Stepdaughters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Film critic Joel David also shared a word about Kristoffer\u2019s death, saying, \u201cMourning the loss of the best male film performer in the country, who never got his due. One of my long-term plans was to survey his output chronologically &amp; provide an evaluation with his assistance as primary source, so that will now have to be done without his help.
