Duterte may have found more evidence that prompted him to issue a stern warning against fugitive and alleged drug lord Peter Lim, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There could be basis for that.\u00a0<em>Baka marami nang ebidensiya<\/em>\u00a0(Maybe there is overwhelming evidence) to convince the President that he (Lim) is really behind many operations concerning drug activities,\u201d Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a Palace briefing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou must remember that Peter Lim at one point denied that.\u00a0<em>Siguro lalong pinaimbestigahan ni Presidente, baka marami na siyang basis<\/em>(Maybe the President ordered further investigation and now he has many basis),&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>In a speech on Wednesday, Duterte said it would be better for Lim to commit suicide since he would face 200 years in prison if he surrenders.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo said authorities do not know Lim&#8217;s whereabouts yet but assured that the President has a standing order to &#8220;pursue&#8221; violators of the law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Standing order naman is to pursue to end of the world those who have violated the laws in this country.\u00a0<em>Iyon naman ang palaging<\/em>standing order\u00a0<em>niya<\/em>\u00a0(That&#8217;s always his standing order),&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2018, Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 65 Presiding Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos issued an arrest warrant and a hold departure order against Lim.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice filed against Lim two counts of the non-bailable offense of conspiracy to commit illegal drug trade, along with self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.<\/p>\n<p>The case stemmed from a complaint filed by the Philippine National Police&#8217;s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group tagging Lim as the source of &#8220;shabu&#8221; being sold by the Espinosa group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8211; President Rodrigo R.
