(<a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/w\/index.php?curid=62777546\">File photo by Patrickroque01 at English Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">The businessman who died in a shooting incident that took place on the southbound lane of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) last Sunday was facing a total of 14 complaints over bouncing checks, Mandaluyong City police chief told DZMM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>&#8220;Meron po kaming na<\/i>-verify<i> sa<\/i> Regional Trial Court (RTC) <i>na meron siyang<\/i> 14 cases <i>na finile kay<\/i> Mr. [Jose Luis] Yulo for B.P. (Batas Pambansa) 22 [<em>o<\/em>] Bouncing Checks Law (We have verified with the Regional Trial Court that there were 14 cases filed against Mr. Yulo for Bouncing Checks Law),&#8221; Senior Supertintendent Moises Villaceran, Jr. said during the radio interview on Tuesday, February 19.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;And another one, <i>meron din siyang <\/i>(Yulo)<i>nai<\/i>-file <i>rin na<\/i> grave threat against <i>naman sa iba <\/i>(Yulo has also filed a grave threat complaint against another person)<i>,&#8221;<\/i> he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Villaceran said they will check on the status of the charges lodged against Yulo and the name of the respondent on the complaint that the businessman had filed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Yulo, 62, and his two companions were on board a white Toyota HiAce Grandia van when two unidentified gunmen fired shots at their vehicle along EDSA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He and his driver, Allan Nomer Santos, were killed in the incident, while the other passenger identified as Esmeralda Ignacio was wounded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to Villaceran, they recovered a .38-caliber revolver and 12 extra rounds of ammunition from Yulo&#8217;s bag found inside the van.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>&#8220;Tinitingnan namin bakit mayroon siyang baril <\/i>despite <i>ng <\/i>[election] gun ban. <i>Mayroon bang <\/i>threat? <i>Mayroon bang alam niyang nanganganib ang buhay niya? Did he know that his life is at risk?
