(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BtpKLauFFhw\/\">File Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/arianagrande\/?hl=en\">@arianagrande\/Instagram<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LOS ANGELES \u2014 Ariana Grande won her first Grammy Award on Sunday, but the singer didn&#8217;t collect it after deciding to skip the ceremony following a public dispute with the show&#8217;s producer.<\/p>\n<p>Grande won the best pop vocal album trophy for \u201cSweetener,\u201d beating Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. Grande was not in attendance at the pre-telecast ceremony, but she wrote on Twitter that her win was \u201cwild and beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know I&#8217;m not there tonight,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cTrust, I tried and still truly wished it had worked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grande accused Grammy telecast executive producer Ken Ehrlich of lying about discussions with the superstar singer about performing at Sunday&#8217;s ceremony. Ehrlich told The Associated Press on Thursday that Grande had told producers that she didn&#8217;t have adequate time to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs it turned out, when we finally got to the point where we thought maybe it would work, she felt it was too late for her to pull something together for sure,\u201d he said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>But Grande fired back in a social media post that she \u201ccan pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken.\u201d She alleged her \u201ccreativity\u201d and \u201cself-expression\u201d was \u201cstifled,\u201d adding, \u201cI hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the show, Grande also tweeted and quickly deleted criticism of the Grammys after the late Mac Miller \u2014 her ex \u2014 lost to\u00a0Cardi\u00a0B\u00a0for rap album of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Grande called Miller&#8217;s loss \u201ctrash\u201d and also used an expletive. She later clarified she wasn&#8217;t criticizing\u00a0Cardi\u00a0B.<\/p>\n<p>Miller died of an accidental drug overdose last year at age 26.<\/p>\n<p>Grande has been featured on billboards promoting the show, airing live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
