Four people died and around 50 people were wounded after a tour bus collided with a truck along the northbound lane of the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) on Thursday, January 31, reports said.<\/p>\n

In an interview with DZMM<\/i>, traffic management and safety head of North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Robert Ignacio said government employees were the ones on board the tourist bus which was coming from Cavite.<\/p>\n

“Halos lahat po ay sugatan\u00a0‘yung sa may <\/i>bus, karamihan naman po ay <\/i>minor (Almost all passengers of the bus were wounded. Most of them sustained minor injuries),” Ignacio said.<\/p>\n

The 50 passengers were already rushed to the nearby hospital, the official said.<\/p>\n

According to Ignacio, the bus passengers told them that the tourist bus was running fast when it hit the truck in the SCTEx.<\/p>\n

“Tinitignan po ito, iniimbistigahan kung talaga pong mabilis at<\/i> na-miscalculate lang po niya <\/i>or baka nakaidlip din po <\/i>(We are looking at it; investigating whether the bus was moving fast and the bus driver miscalculated his speed or he fell asleep),”<\/i> he said.<\/p>\n

Ignacio also told DZMM<\/i> that the accident slowed traffic up to 200 meters from the crash site.<\/p>\n

“Medyo matatagalang alisin po ‘yung mga <\/i>involved na sasakyan, ‘yung<\/i> truck at tsaka ‘yung<\/i> bus, lalo na ‘yung <\/i>bus (It will take a while before the involved vehicles will be removed, the truck and bus, especially the bus),” he explained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
