(Photo: Maarten van den Heuvel\/Unsplash)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">Canadians now probably could not get any prouder after Canada was listed as the third best country in the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This, according to the 2019 Best Countries report published by US News &amp; World Report on Wednesday, January 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Canada followed Japan which was ranked number two and Switzerland that remains to be the first for three consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Completing the top ten are as follows: Germany which landed on the fourth spot, followed by United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, United States, Norway, and France.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Although Canada fell from the second spot from last year&#8217;s ranking, the Great White North, however, took the top spot for quality of life category, besting Sweden and Denmark.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Under the category of best countries for women, Canada obtained the third place, also landing on the third spot in the best countries for education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The annual ranking of the world&#8217;s best countries is conducted by U.S. News &amp; World Report, in partnership with BAV Group and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">They evaluate &#8220;80 countries across a range of categories, from economic influence and military might to education and quality of life, to capture how nations are perceived on a global scale.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Eric Gertler, U.S. News&#8217; executive chairman, said in the report that the rankings &#8220;arms citizens, thought leaders, business executives and government officials with the data to evaluate the global standings of their nations and leadership.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0Michael Sussman, chief executive officer (CEO) of BAV Group, the rankings &#8220;can help brands understand the potential power they have in connecting to their home nations, and help guide in managing their own branding.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Also cited in the U.S. News&#8217; report was\u00a0Wharton School professor\u00a0David Reibstein, saying that the list &#8220;speaks to the value of having a strong global standing as nations compete for investment, tourists and influence in the same way companies compete for consumers&#8217; dollars.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Apart from the top 10 countries mentioned, other countries included in the world&#8217;s best countries for 2019 were: Netherlands, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Singapore, China, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Ireland, South Korea, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Russia, and Portugal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canadians now probably could not get any prouder after Canada was listed as the third best country in the world. &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":199136,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[18,16],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-199120","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news-ca","category-news","mauthors-joanna-belle-deala","mauthors-philippine-canadian-inquirer"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/199120","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=199120"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/199120\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/199136"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=199120"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=199120"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=199120"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
