Duterte even if they are from the opposition.<\/p>\n<p>In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the electorates also expect the senatorial aspirants who would win in the May 13 polls to support the Duterte administration\u2019s programs since the President continued to enjoy high trust and approval ratings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe logic will be, if you\u2019re voted into office given the overwhelming mandate of this President, then the mandate for you is to cooperate with this President\u00a0<em>dahil gusto namin ang kaniyang ginagawa<\/em>\u00a0(because we&#8217;re satisfied with what he&#8217;s doing),&#8221; Panelo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we\u2019re voting for you to help him and not to destroy or to attack or to make a monkey wrench of his program,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Panelo clarified that Duterte does not bring candidates in his events.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The assumption that he brings candidates is incorrect. He doesn\u2019t bring candidates. Those candidates happened to be there,\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese candidates are very creative, they know the schedule of the President so that they go there and when the President sees them, if they see him or if he sees them\u2026\u00a0<em>kasi<\/em>\u00a0(because) if he doesn\u2019t see them, he doesn\u2019t say anything eh. If you notice\u00a0<em>iyong mga speeches niya dire-diretso, tapos bigla iyang \u2018oh\u2019 kapag nakita niya<\/em>\u00a0(he talks direct to the point in his speeches then when he suddenly sees someone) then says something good.\u00a0<em>Ganoon siya eh<\/em>\u00a0(He&#8217;s like that), so it\u2019s not intentional on his part,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo, also Chief Presidential legal counsel, said there is nothing wrong with the candidates&#8217; strategy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You cannot stop them. They are citizens of this country.
