Keep a watch out for more YOU sightings.&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BsmWSOwg-jk\/\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/netflixph\/\">@netflixph<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\">Instagram<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thirty-one-year-old Filipina-Canadian Shay Mitchell visits her mother\u2019s hometown as she brings along Netflix Originals\u2019 \u2018You\u2019 co-star Penn Badgley to Manila to promote the first season of their thriller series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shay announced her arrival last Sunday, January 13 with a tweet that said, \u201cHello Manila!\u201d also providing details for their fan event happening two days later at a set designed like their show\u2019s iconic Mooney\u2019s Bookstore at Greenbelt 5. Both Hollywood stars also posted photographs on their Instagram sharing an oversized Halo-Halo at The Manila Peninsula. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a video, Shay is seen introducing her co-star to the dessert, saying, \u201cSo this is <em>halo-halo<\/em>. It\u2019s a Filipino dessert basically shaved ice with condensed milk. But I have never seen anything that big.\u201d In her Instagram story, Shay elaborates, \u201cSo truly, I&#8217;ve never seen a halo-halo this big. Halo-halo means \u2018mix-mix.\u2019 Basically, this is a dessert mixed with a bunch of stuff.\u201d As a response to his treat, Penn jokes \u201cIt was great. I mean it has a lot of sugar, but it was nice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official Netflix account as well teased the visit of their cast to the Philippines, as they posted an image of Penn and Shay posing by a jeepney captioned, \u201cDid someone order a jeepney? These two are on the way to see you\u201d using the hashtag #NextflixIsHere4You in honor of the momentous event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The day after their arrival, the two held a press conference to promote \u2018You,\u2019 which is a series revolving around Badgley\u2019s character Joe and his obsession with the best friend of Shay\u2019s character, Peach.
