MANILA — After Claudine Barretto and legal counsel Atty. Ferdinand Topacio tweeted “the magic of make-up” photos of Claudine’s bruised face (see photos\u00a01<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>), Raymart Santiago’s camp vehemently denied all allegations that he physically abused Claudine while they were still together.<\/p>\n

On July 18, Claudine had a photoshoot to show her legs–filled with wounds and scars, including cigarette burns. The Kapuso actress did not name anybody responsible for the horrible afflictions, but she did say that she has accepted that she’s a “battered wife.”<\/p>\n

According to Raymart’s camp, all photos supplied by Atty. Topacio and published by showbiz blog Fashion Pulis were from Claudine’s “post-surgical procedure.” In an interview with the\u00a0Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) on July 21, the photos were taken during the Holy Week of 2010–between March 31 and April 4. Raymart also provided several photos taken on the same week with Claudine having fun with the rest of the Santiago clan.<\/p>\n

A statement from Raymart reads: “Here is a truthful version of the recent Twitter post of a make-up tutorial to conceal bruises, perhaps even wounds and scars, with the allusion of the subject having been battered… The wounds and scars are definitely real, but how they were sustained is a different story altogether.”<\/p>\n
