Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Members of the police\u2019s intelligence units were sacked by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde, after a \u2018leakage\u2019 of the supposed profiling of teachers tied with communists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will check on that and as far as I\u2019m concerned, <em>wala akong pinirmahan na ganyan<\/em> (I did not sign [any order]),\u201d the top cop told the media in a press briefing on Monday, January 7, after reporters asked him if there was an official instruction.<\/p>\n<p>Albayalde then said that he \u201cimmediately ordered for all intelligence officers to be relieved,\u201d who are chiefs of the Quezon City Police District Station 6, Manila Police District Station 3, and Zambales; totalling of three.<\/p>\n<p>The PNP chief, who said that he was a former intel officer, slammed the relieved cops for \u2018not knowing how to do their job.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to do your job discreetly,\u201d he said, adding that the leakage caused \u201cunnecessary panic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said that there is a pending investigation on the case, saying, \u201c<em>Titingnan natin anong basis nung nag-p-profile sa kanila<\/em> (We will look at the basis of their supposed profilers).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Albayalde sympathized with the members of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT), saying that they \u201cunderstand the feeling\u201d that being profiled by a police could make.
