Photo by Gustavo Fernandez \/ Flickr.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.\u2014Tea Leoni got the go-ahead from her kids to get back to work.<\/p>\n<p>The 48-year-old actress has worked sparingly in recent years while being at home with 15-year-old daughter Madelaine and son Kyd, whose father is actor David Duchovny.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI turned to my 12-year-old son and I said, \u2018It\u2019s going to be a little tricky. I\u2019m not going to be around as much. Are you cool with that?\u201d\u2018 Leoni said Thursday at the summer TV critics\u2019 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018Yeah, I was getting kind of sick of you,\u201d\u2018 she said. \u201cSo I\u2019m back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leoni plays the U.S. secretary of state with Tim Daly as her husband in the upcoming CBS show \u201cMadame Secretary.\u201d Her last movie role came in \u201cTower Heist\u201d in 2011, and she starred in TV\u2019s \u201cThe Naked Truth\u201d in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Freeman serves as an executive producer of the new show. The 77-year-old actor said there are currently no plans for him to appear on camera, but he noted that Daly\u2019s character is a professor of religion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a little experience playing God,\u201d joked Freeman, referring to his role in the film \u201cBruce Almighty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Creator and executive producer Barbara Hall said former Secretary of State Madelaine Albright is excited about the show and has met with Leoni and Daly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s very eager to weigh in and help us,\u201d Hall said.<\/p>\n<p>She said the show was inspired by actual events and will attempt to \u201cpull back the curtain on how the State Department works.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.\u2014Tea Leoni got the go-ahead from her kids to get back to work.
