Duterte will spend this year&#8217;s Christmas in his hometown, Davao City, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In a press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President spends Christmas yearly in his home with his family.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every Christmas\u00a0<em>naman ganoon siya eh<\/em>\u00a0(He is like that every Christmas), birthdays spend it with his family always. No frills,&#8221; Panelo said.<\/p>\n<p>Panelo said Duterte is expected to visit underprivileged and sick children this holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Ganoon ang<\/em>\u00a0style<em>\u00a0ni Presidente<\/em>\u00a0(that is the style of the President) \u2013 handicap.\u00a0<em>Doon siya, mababaw ang puso ni Presidente sa mga<\/em>handicaps, special children,\u00a0<em>may mga sakit ng<\/em>\u00a0cancer (His heart is there with the handicaps, special children, those with cancer).<em>\u00a0Doon mo makikita iyong kanyang<\/em>\u00a0compassion (That&#8217;s where you can see his compassion), he sheds his tears every time,&#8221; Panelo said.<\/p>\n<p>The chief executive spent also spent last year&#8217;s holidays in his hometown where he also visited families of individuals killed in a Davao City mall fire.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Duterte spent his first Christmas eve as President in Davao City and visited young cancer patients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8211; President Rodrigo R.
