(PNA Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar was among the personalities recognized at the Gawad Filipino Awards held on Monday night (Dec. 17).<\/p>\n<p>Gawad Filipino Awards presented Andanar with the Dangal ng Sambayanang Filipino Award for Pinaka Mahusay sa Panglilingkod Bayan during the awarding ceremony at Tanghalang Pasiguena in Pasig City.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) Executive Director Joel Sy Egco received the award on behalf of Andanar.<\/p>\n<p>Gawad Filipino Awards recognizes individuals, organizations, and companies as awardees for categories such as Dangal ng Sambayanang Filipino; Dangal ng Bayang Filipino; Dangal ng Kawal ng Bayan; Dangal ng Husay at Galing; and Media People\u2019s Choice Awards in their field of endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Andanar was awarded the \u2018Most Outstanding Public Servant\u2019 during the 2nd Diamond Golden Awards held at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas in Pasig City.<\/p>\n<p>Last October, Andanar was recognized by the National Press Club (NPC) for his support to press freedom and the welfare of the Philippine media community.<\/p>\n<p>Under Andanar\u2019s leadership, the PCOO\u2019s attached media agencies particularly People\u2019s Television Network (PTV), Radyo ng Bayan, Radio-Television Malaca\u00f1ang (RTVM) and Philippine News Agency (PNA) have improved significantly in just less than two years.<\/p>\n<p>Andanar has also pushed to revert the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).<\/p>\n<p>At present, he is only awaiting the President\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining the Duterte administration, Andanar was a multi-awarded television news executive, news anchor, radio commentator, podcaster, audio blogger and voice-over artist at TV5.<em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar was among the personalities recognized at the Gawad Filipino Awards held &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":194467,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-194466","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-azer-parrocha","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/194466","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=194466"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/194466\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/194467"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=194466"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=194466"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=194466"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
