The Government of Canada\u00a0issued 3,900 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in\u00a0a new Express Entry invitation round held December 12. The minimum score in this draw was 445.<\/p>\n

This was the sixth draw in a row to issue 3,900\u00a0Invitations to Apply (ITAs)<\/a>\u00a0and leaves Canada just 124 invitations shy of a new record for the most ITAs issued in a single year.<\/p>\n

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the\u00a0‘tie-break’ r<\/a>ule for Express Entry\u00a0candidates with a\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)<\/a>\u00a0score of 445. This means that ITAs will be issued to all candidates with scores above 445 as well as candidates with scores of 445 who submitted their Express Entry profiles\u00a0prior to November 28, 2018, at 09:51:43 UTC.<\/p>\n

In order to\u00a0be considered for immigration through Canada’s\u00a0Express Entry s<\/a>ystem, foreign nationals must first meet the eligibility\u00a0criteria for\u00a0one of three economic immigration programs \u2014 the\u00a0Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)<\/a>,\u00a0Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Canadian Experience Class (CEC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eligible candidates are entered into the Express Entry pool and are assigned a CRS score out of 1,200 based on factors such as education, work experience and\u00a0English or French language proficiency.<\/p>\n

IRCC invites the highest-ranking\u00a0candidates through regular draws from the pool.<\/p>\n

Candidates\u00a0issued an\u00a0ITA\u00a0have 60 days from the date of receipt to submit a complete Canadian permanent residence\u00a0application to the Government of Canada.<\/p>\n
