(Pixabay photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saskatchewan has issued 743 new invitations to candidates in its Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry immigration sub-categories in draws held December 6.\u00a0\u00a0<span id=\"more-11582\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The bulk of these invitations \u2014 532 \u2014 went to candidates in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/sinp-international-skilled-worker-category.html#InternationalSkilledWorker-OccupationsIn-Demand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Occupation In-Demand<\/a>\u00a0candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining 211 invitations went to candidates in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/sinp-international-skilled-worker-category.html#InternationalSkilledWorker-SaskatchewanExpressEntry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Express Entry sub-category<\/a>, which is linked to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal Express Entry system<\/a>\u00a0and allows Saskatchewan to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points toward their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Express Entry ranking score<\/a>, which effectively assures an invitation from the Government of Canada to apply for permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>Like federal Express Entry system, Saskatchewan uses an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/saskatchewan-expression-of-interest-eoi-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Expression of Interest (EOI) system<\/a>\u00a0to select candidates through these sub-categories.<\/p>\n<p>Under this system, interested candidates create a profile that includes information on their education, work experience, proficiency in English or French and other factors.<\/p>\n<p>Profiles are then given\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/sinp-international-skilled-worker-category.html?&amp;_ga=2.68525270.679260978.1544196623-1220666138.1510073635#pointassessgrid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a score<\/a>\u00a0based on\u00a0the information provided and those with 60 points or more are entered into the pool of eligible candidates for either the Express Entry or Occupation In-Demand sub-category.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates are ranked in the pool of eligible candidates based on their score and a set number of the highest-ranked are issued invitations through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/saskatchewan-expression-of-interest-eoi-system.html#invitationhistory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regular draws<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum score for both sub-categories was 61.<\/p>\n<p>The December 6 invitation rounds were the sixth for both sub-categories since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2018\/07\/saskatchewans-new-expression-of-interest-system-now-in-effect-for-express-entry-occupations-in-demand-sub-categories-0710919.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Saskatchewan adopted its EOI system in July<\/a>.\u00a0A total of 4,080 invitations have been issued since then, with 1,763 going to Express Entry candidates and\u00a02,317 issued to Occupation In-Demand candidates.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible for the Saskatchewan\u2019s Express Entry sub-category, Express Entry candidates must have work experience in a high-skilled occupation found on the province\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/sinp-international-skilled-worker-category.html?_ga=2.211140757.1026171728.1543243533-806715713.1510089659#In-DemandOccupationList\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In-Demand Occupations List<\/a>, among other criteria.<\/p>\n<p>A job offer from a Saskatchewan employer is not required.<\/p>\n<p>This also applies to the Occupation In-Demand
