Cruz, Bea wanted to state that \u201cSexual Harassment is real; not just in pageants, but everywhere!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a Facebook post, Bea reminisces on growing up in Bicol Region and being intensely harassed by a priest who \u201cis still preaching somewhere in Masbate\u201d at the age of 12. She also accounts being 21 years old and being \u201ctouched inappropriately by a well-known businessman who is a CEO of a big company,\u201d sharing, \u201cHe even organized parties for girls who didn\u2019t win with his friends.\u201d She reports seeing the man again soon after first encountering him, but this time, as a candidate, defending the organizers who \u201cwere there to see things thoroughly.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within her lengthy post, Bea lists numerous examples like visiting the Congress, taking photos with fans, and just being crowned Queen at an international pageant all still being possible to be inappropriately touched.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Although Bea admits being \u201chonestly scared to speak up,\u201d she still pursued to share her thoughts to \u201chelp the future queens.\u201d In conclusion, Bea states \u201cIt happens. No matter how careful you are. No matter how big\/popular\/old\/\u201dreligious\u201d a person is, he can still be a pervert.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thankfully, Bea receive a lot of support from her fellow beauty queens. Isabella Manjon, Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2011 comments, \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You did what is right. This happens everywhere. I had my own experiences, too. That\u2019s why I hate it when people say <em>kasalanan ng babae<\/em>\u00a0(it&#8217;s the woman&#8217;s fault) because of the way they dress.\u201d Miss Earth Air 2012 Stephany Stefanowitz adds, \u201cThank you, Queen B.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bea has been commended often for her bravery this year.
