The son of celebrities Teresa Loyzaga and Cesar Montano was reported to have been on the phone with a friend overheard by his househelp saying that he was okay and in Filipino, saying \u201c[he] still can.\u201d (File Photo<\/a>: @diegoloyzaga<\/a>\/Instagram<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>Twenty-three year old Diego Loyzaga finds himself at St. Luke\u2019s Medical Center, Quezon City after a supposed suicide attempt using a swiss knife last Thursday, November 7. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the night of the incident, the son of celebrities Teresa Loyzaga and Cesar Montano was reported to have been on the phone with a friend overheard by his househelper saying that he was okay and in Filipino, saying \u201c[he] still can.\u201d However, a few moments later, he was found by his housemates trying to slit his neck, to which they then rushed to call emergency paramedics. After the medical team was able to calm Diego down, they took him to the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diego\u2019s party has yet to speak about the issue, but Star Magic public relations head Thess Gubi states, \u201cDiego and family are doing fine and are requesting for privacy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

News about Diego first broke out when TV5 reporter Laila Chikadora shared a blind item on Facebook, adding, \u201cPlease don\u2019t let your inner demons win. I will pray for you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite being the son of actor-turned-politician Cesar and his ex-girlfriend Teresa, Diego has made a name for himself in showbusiness portraying roles in \u201cPangako Sa \u2018Yo,\u201d \u201cMaalaala Mo Kaya,\u201d and \u201cForevermore.\u201d He is also referred to as the \u201cmale and new generation version\u201d of legendary actress Maricel Soriano. Diego\u2019s most recent public relationship was with co-star Sofia Andres, which both parties admit they are \u201ccivil.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2010, Diego\u2019s half-brother Christian Angelo Montano passed away after he was found with a gunshot wound in his home. He was also 23 years old, like Diego. In a public statement by father Cesar, it says, \u201cNo words can describe the grief that my family and I are experiencing with this devastating news. Initial police investigation showed that Angelo died from a single gunshot wound in the head. We are still trying to piece together some facts pertaining to his death.
