Myrtle will be playing Player Unknown Battleground (PUBG) with fellow Filipino challengers called AETHER DOGZ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before she left for her trip, Myrtle spoke to the media about her \u201c[being] nervous and [her] excitement for the upcoming eSports tournament,\u201d saying, \u201cI really didn\u2019t expect that from playing video games for fun that I\u2019m suddenly flying to Thailand to represent Team Philippines.\u201d She elaborated that \u201cnot much people know, but [she\u2019s] really a gamer\u201d and if she were given a choice \u201cto go out and party or to stay in the house,\u201d she would \u201cstay at home to play.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it came to how the opportunity came about, Myrtle reported, \u201cA month ago, I joined the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge with a team I formed from my clan but failed to get in the SEA finals. After not qualifying, Omen by HP reached out to me and invited me to join the Team Philippines in the upcoming PUBG Tournament, the Omen by HP Challenger Series.\u201d Myrtle says that \u201cthe pressure is from playing for fun and leisure, suddenly you gotta be more strategic, more competitive,\u201d but she said her motivation is the Philippines, concluding her interview stating, \u201cI\u2019m glad that [gaming] is starting to be more popular here in the Philippines too. I hope that through this competition we gain more attention for Filipino Gamers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Competing against the Philippines in Omen by HP Challenger Series are teams from South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore. The overall winner will receive\u00a0up to $50,000 USD.
