(<a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/w\/index.php?curid=53369449\">File Photo By Leonor Magtolis Briones &#8211; Department of Education, CC BY-SA 4.0<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; A group of teachers on Sunday urged the government to fund the provisions of Republic Act 4670 or the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>This, after the Department of Education (DepEd) assured in a press release on Saturday that teaching and non-teaching personnel will receive PHP3,000 bonus as part of its anniversary celebration in December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ang mga nakasaad sa<\/em>\u00a0Magna Carta<em>\u00a0hinggil sa<\/em>\u00a0overtime pay, free medical check-up\u00a0<em>at<\/em>\u00a0treatment\u00a0<em>ay mahalaga sa aming mga guro lalo na walang<\/em>\u00a0substantial\u00a0<em>na pagtaas ng sahod sa kabila ng mataas na presyo ng mga bilihin<\/em>\u00a0(Those stated in the magna carta about overtime pay, free medical check-up and treatment are important to us teachers, especially that we don\u2019t have substantial wage increase despite the price increase in commodities),\u201d Quezon City Public School Teachers Association (QCPSTA) Board Director Kristhean Navales told Philippine News Agency (PNA) in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Education Secretary Leonor Briones first made a pronouncement about the bonus during the World Teachers\u2019 Day celebration in Ormoc City on October 5.<\/p>\n<p>It was reaffirmed in a meeting between members of DepEd\u2019s Executive Committee and Alliance of Concerned Teachers at SEAMEO INNOTECH in Quezon City on October 26.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re already working on it and preparing for it.
