MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— President Rodrigo Duterte described his partner, Cielito \u201cHoneylet\u201d Avance\u00f1a, as his \u201ctrue love\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of everyone else that I know, she\u2019s the one that I will really believe in,\u201d Duterte said during the inauguration of the Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall in Davao City on Friday.<\/p>\n

The President made this remark after mentioning in a speech a former girlfriend who happened to be a \u201cgobernadora\u201d.<\/p>\n

Duterte and Avance\u00f1a have been together for more than 20 years. They have a 13-year-old daughter named Veronica, also known as Kitty.<\/p>\n

The President also took pride in their daughter for being smart, just like Avance\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is good at\u2026 Because she\u2019s a valedictorian. That\u2019s true. Her daughter takes after her,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike Honeylet\u2019s daughter. Her lowest grade is 91. That\u2019s the lowest. I told her, \u2018Nak, back then I only studied just a little.\u2019 Because she\u2019s always complaining, always studying and rarely goes out anymore,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Last Oct. 7, Duterte and his family spent the weekend in Hong Kong to take a break.<\/p>\n
