(<a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/SenatorPingLacson\/photos\/a.1961526247250698.1073742080.824886400914694\/1961526473917342\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/SenatorPingLacson\">Senator Ping Lacson\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; Now that President Rodrigo Duterte himself denied that he has cancer, politicians, especially the opposition, should now train their focus on the pressing problems facing the country, Senator Panfilo Lacson said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview at the Senate, Lacson said while the state of health of the President is of national interest, speculations should already stop with the announcement that Duterte is healthy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe clarified\u00a0<em>na<\/em>\u00a0(that is) free\u00a0<em>siya<\/em>\u00a0from cancer and he\u2019s healthy. So while it is so provided in the Constitution<em>\u00a0na dapat<\/em>\u00a0(should) made public\u00a0<em>ang<\/em>\u00a0state of health\u00a0<em>ng Presidente kasi kasama sa<\/em>\u00a0(of the President because it is included in the) national interest, that\u2019s it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey already publicly announced\u00a0<em>na wala naman siya<\/em>\u00a0(that he has no),\u00a0<em>hindi siya<\/em>\u00a0(that he is not) cancerous,\u201d Lacson added.<\/p>\n<p>President Duterte on Tuesday said he is cancer-free, a few days after revealing he recently underwent endoscopy at a private hospital to check the &#8220;growth&#8221; found in his digestive tract. The growth was found to be benign.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his announcement, Palace officials have assured the public that Duterte is not affected with a serious illness.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, for those still in doubt about Duterte\u2019s well-being, Lacson added that seeing the President in public and attending to the functions of the Presidency should be enough to dispel any notion of a very-ill Chief Executive.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cKung<\/em>\u00a0indisposed\u00a0<em>siya, doon tayo magkaroon ng<\/em>\u00a0concern. And if we are not being told anything\u00a0<em>at di natin nakikita sa<\/em>\u00a0public\u00a0<em>ang<\/em>\u00a0President, then something must be wrong and we should demand Malaca\u00f1ang<em>\u00a0na dapat magbigay ng<\/em>\u00a0bulletin (If he is indisposed, then we should be concerned.
