The President (Duterte) has been president (for) two years, let\u2019s support him and give him a chance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Arroyo also urged the public to give Duterte a chance to solve the country\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBigyan natin sya ng pagkakataon na masolusyunan yung mga sinisikap nyang masolusyonan (Let\u2019s give him [Duterte] a chance to solve whatever he strives to solve),\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte remains to be the national official with the highest approval and trust ratings, according to a recent Pulse Asia survey.<\/p>\n<p>Results of the survey, held from Sept. 1 to 7, showed the President scored a 75-percent approval rating and a 72-percent trust rating.<\/p>\n<p>The elder Macapagal became the country&#8217;s president in 1961, while Arroyo duplicated her father&#8217;s feat by assuming the presidency in 2001.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; If former president Diosdado Macapagal were alive today, what would he say to the Filipino people?
