Nagkaroon ng<\/em>\u00a0communication lapse<em>\u00a0hindi niya nalaman na may gumagawa pa sa<\/em>\u00a0station between Buendia and Guadalupe (I think there was a lapse on the safety protocol. There was a miscommunication between the driver of the tracks who should have informed that he is on the way back. It was a communication lapse he didn\u2019t know that there were some personnel working between the stations of Buendia and Guadalupe),\u201d MRT director for operations Michael Capati said in a press briefing.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the MRT-3&#8217;s probe, a personnel driving the service train or unimog carrying its maintenance crew from Taft Avenue on the way back to its depot on North Avenue ailed to communicate with a co-driver of another unimog thus, the collision.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Sa<\/em>\u00a0initial investigation<em>\u00a0namin, lumalabas na hindi nakapag-radyo \u2018yong<\/em>\u00a0driver\u00a0<em>nung<\/em>\u00a0unimog\u00a0<em>na nakabangga sa<\/em>\u00a0OCS (Overhead Catenary System) (Based on our initial investigation, the driver of the unimog was not able to communicate through radio and collided with the OCS),\u201d Capati said.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the tracks between Buendia and Guadalupe stations have both upward and downward slopes.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the driver of unimog suddenly put on his brakes when he saw that there was ongoing maintenance works along the Buendia and Guadalupe stations.<\/p>\n<p>The driver, he said, was not able to control his brakes thus he hit a unimog from the OCS along the upper slope of the track.<\/p>\n<p>The accident resulted in injuries to seven maintenance and security personnel. They are now being treated at the Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center.
