(Pixabay photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ontario has revised the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score requirement for its Express Entry-linked Human Capital Priorities immigration stream.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas candidates previously were required to have a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score of at least 400, the stream\u2019s guidelines now say the minimum score will be \u201cas\u00a0determined by the director.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A further update asks candidates to indicate their interest in immigrating to either Ontario or \u201call provinces and territories\u201d when creating an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-candidates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Express Entry profile<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-provincial-nominee-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)<\/a>\u00a0did not immediately respond to a request from CIC News for more information regarding these updates.<\/p>\n<p>The OINP has waived the CRS minimum of 400 in three draws so far this year, two of which\u00a0targeted Express Entry candidates with a job offer in Ontario and another that targeted those with French language abilities of CLB 7 or higher.<\/p>\n<p>For these draws, Ontario dropped the CRS minimum and even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2018\/08\/ontario-issues-new-express-entry-invitations-with-cut-off-scores-as-low-as-350-0811049.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pushed it as low as 350<\/a>\u00a0in its August 9 targeted job offer draw.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Human Capital Priorities Stream<\/a>\u00a0(HCP) is one of the Ontario\u2019s most active and popular immigration pathways. It allows the OINP to search the federal Express Entry pool for candidates who match the stream\u2019s established eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario has issued a total of 3,534 Notifications of Interest to selected Express Entry candidates through the HCP in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who receive a Notification of Interest can then apply to Ontario for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n<p>The Express Entry system manages the profiles of candidates in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/federal-skilled-worker-program-fswp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Skilled Worker Class<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Skilled Trades Class<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination for permanent residence from Ontario are awarded an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, effectively guaranteeing them an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-invitation-to-apply-for-permanent-residence.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Invitation to Apply (ITA)<\/a>\u00a0in a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be considered for the HCP, the first step is to find out if you are eligible to enter a profile in the federal Express Entry pool.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ontario has revised the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score requirement for its Express Entry-linked Human Capital Priorities immigration stream.
