Duterte is not obliged to give in to the challenge of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to take an IQ (intelligence quotient) test, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain the President is not obliged to give in to any demands of anyone,\u201d Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a Palace briefing.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Trillanes challenged Duterte to an IQ test after Duterte questioned his intelligence during the National Heroes\u2019 Day rites held at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said he wondered how Trillanes was able to survive studying at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) given \u201chis character, his mouth, and his low IQ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trillanes, a former Navy officer, said the President\u2019s failure to solve the country\u2019s problems is proof that he has a low IQ.<\/p>\n<p>He said he is willing to resign as senator if Duterte scores higher than him in the IQ test.<\/p>\n<p>Roque brushed aside Trillanes\u2019 remark, suggesting he should prioritize taking psychological test instead of an IQ test.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s start with the psych test then we can go to an IQ test. An IQ test is premature, let\u2019s begin with a psych test. After all, would be Chief Justices are required to take the test,\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy reaction to your question is perhaps we should begin with a test on sanity before we even talk about IQ,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; President Rodrigo R.
