Morissette Amon’s concert in Dubai had to be delayed for two hours just 10 minutes before it began.<\/p>\n

Reason for this? The singer suddenly lost her voice.<\/p>\n

“I was in Dubai for the Dubai-leg of ‘Made (Morissette is Made).’ Just minutes before my opening prod, biglang nawala lang ‘yung boses ko <\/em>(I suddenly lost my voice),” Morissette told entertainment reporters in a press conference last August 21 (Tuesday).<\/p>\n

“Nag<\/em>-panic po kami kasi hindi kami<\/em> prepared (We panicked because we are not prepared). Hours before, I was totally fine. Pero we \u2014 me and my family and my management \u2014 felt like naniningil na po ‘yung katawan ko sa kaka<\/em>-travel ko (my body got burned out from travelling),” she added.<\/p>\n

Morissette shared that she has been travelling for the past weeks, going to Canada and Australia.<\/p>\n

“Feeling ko noong<\/em> Dubai, naniningil na siya.<\/em> Although hindi ko naman nafi<\/em>-feel na nai<\/em>-stress ako, nag-e-<\/em>enjoy naman po ako. Wala, bigla na lang pong nangyari <\/em>(When I was in Dubai, I felt like my body was giving up. Although I did not feel that I\u2019m stressed, I actually enjoyed it. Nothing, it just happened),”<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n

Because of what happened, the 22-year-old singer was given medication and had to wait for it to kick in.<\/p>\n

“It took about 30 minutes before the medication worked on my voice. Kung hindi po ako nag<\/em>-take, wala po talaga akong boses <\/em>(If it did not take the medicine, I won\u2019t be able to retrieve my voice).<\/em> I feel like walang show na mangyayari <\/em>(I feel like the show won\u2019t continue).<\/em> I really had to take it kasi<\/em> (because) it was so bad, out of nowhere,” Morissette continued.<\/p>\n

The singer said she was sorry that she had to keep her audience waiting for hours.<\/p>\n

“Parang nahihiya din talaga ako sa mga<\/em> audience ko, lalo na ‘yung mga bumiyahe pa<\/em> to be able to join us (I feel ashamed to my audience, especially those who travelled so far to be able to join us). May mga nag<\/em>-cancel pa ng<\/em> plans nila para maging nandoon lang noong gabing ‘yun <\/em>(Some even cancelled their plans just so they can be there that night),”<\/em> she told the reporters.<\/p>\n

She went on saying, “I owe it to them. I still had to give them a performance sa <\/em>(on the) show. Nairaos naman<\/em> (I made it).”<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 22, the “Asia’s Phoenix” again expressed her gratitude to those who gave her an amazing amount of support.<\/p>\n

“I was so blessed to have been surrounded by so much love and positivity that night from my team present then and even from those who weren\u2019t physically there, and from everybody else who continuously prayed with us and showed concern… and amidst everything that happened, naniniwala kaming \u2018di pa din Niya<\/em> (Lord) kami pinabayaan <\/em>(I believe that the Lord will not leave us),”<\/em> she wrote.<\/p>\n

“Thank you din<\/em> po sa lahaaaat ng andoon kagabi<\/em> (also to those who were there that night) who waited, stayed, supported, sang, and celebrated with us from start to finish; mas lalo po akong nainspire<\/em> (I\u2019m more inspired) to give you guys the show you deserved, with all that I could,” she added.<\/p>\n

The unexpected event that happened in her Dubai concert, she said, was not only the most challenging experience she had in her entire career so far but definitely a learning experience for her and her team.<\/p>\n

After she capped off her recent international show, Morissette will be having another concert, “A Lani Morissette Musical Journey,” with the “Asia’s Nightingale” Lani Misalucha on September 22 and 23 at The Theatre at Solaire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
