Duterte on Tuesday night gave a piece of advice to teenage girls who are dating: \u201cIf you\u2019re in love with an addict, leave him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Duterte made this remark discouraging teenage girls from dating addicts, whom he described as \u201cidiots\u201d and \u201ccowards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSabi ko nga sa mga babae<\/em>\u00a0(I told girls), if you are in love with an addict, leave him. He\u2019s not a man. He\u2019s a coward and he\u2019s an idiot. Imagine, you cannot resist taking a drug that will destroy your body,\u201d Duterte said in his speech during the League of Municipalities of the Philippines Visayas Island Cluster Conference in Cebu City.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said that it was not worth dating a good-looking man if he only turned out to be addicted to illegal drugs like marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAvoid\u00a0<em>&#8216;yung mga lalaki na ganun. Walang mangyari sa buhay ninyo. &#8216;Yung magaganda, iwanan niyo yung mga guwapo, hanggang guwapo lang \u2018yan. Yung\u00a0<\/em>boyfriend<em>\u00a0niyo nagma-marijuana,<\/em>\u00a0(Avoid men like that. Nothing will happen to your lives. The pretty ones, leave the handsome ones if that\u2019s all they are. If your boyfriend uses marijuana) you think it\u2019s the fad? You think it\u2019s fashionable?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The President urged them not to believe drug users, who claimed they only used drugs \u201csometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no thing as\u00a0<em>paminsan-minsan<\/em>\u00a0(using drugs sometimes),\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the public to report drug cases to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Officer-in-Charge Eduardo A\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there is a drug problem which you cannot solve, go to Secretary A\u00f1o. Tell him the problem and he will solve it for you,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1o earlier expressed support for the relentless drug war which Duterte vowed during his third State of the Nation Address (SONA).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The DILG and our attached agencies are one with the President in his vision of providing a comfortable and peaceful life for every Filipino without the menace of illegal drugs, crime and corruption,\u201d A\u00f1o said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will support him in every step of the way to ensure that this vision will be fulfilled,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; President Rodrigo R.
