Duterte on Monday night quashed the rumor spread by Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison that he is in coma by going live on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>In a live video shared by Duterte\u2019s top aide Christopher \u201cBong\u201d Go on his Facebook page, Duterte was shown having dinner with a female visitor named Bernice in a hotel in Davao City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said I&#8217;m alive. Fairly healthy and I&#8217;m having dinner with a beautiful lady from Davao. She\u2019s Bernice, she&#8217;s only from Harvard,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said he invited Bernice, who came from Harvard, to discuss \u201cmany things\u201d with her but did not elaborate.<\/p>\n<p>He said if rumors were true that he was in comatose, then he would rise from his bed to greet his female guest.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOkay pa naman ako. Sabi nila\u00a0<\/em>comatose<em>.\u00a0<\/em>How can you be comatose with a beautiful lady?<em>\u00a0Kung<\/em>\u00a0comatose<em>\u00a0ako, makita ko si Bernice, talagang babangon ako<\/em>\u00a0(I\u2019m okay. They say comatose. How can you be comatose with a beautiful lady? If I\u2019m in comatose and I see Bernice, I\u2019ll get up),\u201d Duterte jested.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said if anyone was sick, it was Sison.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIkaw &#8216;yung may sakit\u00a0<\/em>(You\u2019re the one sick),\u201d Duterte said, noting that Sison has probably been going in and out of the hospital in Netherlands, where he has been in exile since 1987.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you think you are sick, come home and\u00a0I\u00a0will bring you to a place. it&#8217;s called Bilibid,\u201d Duterte said referring to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said in Bilibid, Sison will be provided a bed and plenty to keep him company.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he also wished Sison to live for a thousand more years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoma,\u00a0<em>ang\u00a0<\/em>wish\u00a0<em>ko sa buhay maski na wala ka nang silbi sa mundong ito, mabubuhay ka pa rin ng mga 1,000 years. Para ikot ka ng ikot dito sa mundo<\/em>\u00a0(Joma, my wish for you is that even if you have no purpose in this world, you live for 1,000 years so you\u2019ll just keep roaming around the world),\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte said Sison could be the reincarnation of a guy, possibly a biblical character, who has been \u201cwalking around the planet\u201d and \u201cnot dying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday morning, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also dispelled the rumor by noting that Duterte in good health and will even making a public appearance in Cebu City on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cContrary to what Joma Sison said, the President is fine and well in Davao participating in Kadayawan (festival). He will have a public appearance tomorrow (Tuesday) with the League of Cities in Cebu City,\u201d Roque said in a Palace briefing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs usual, Joma Sison does not know what he talks about. How will he know about the state of health of the President when he is faraway in the Netherlands?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Roque shrugged off Sison\u2019s remark noting that he was \u201cnot a doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to Sison, as well as other critics of the President, to stop wishing Duterte ill.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSasabihin ko lang po doon sa mga kritiko ni Presidente<\/em>\u00a0(I just want to tell the President\u2019s critics), stop wishing him ill as far as his health is concerned. Every time you wish him ill,\u00a0<em>lalong lumalakas<\/em>\u00a0(he gets stronger),\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>On his Facebook account, Sison earlier claimed sources have told him that there was a \u201cdarkness\u201d in Duterte\u2019s face during the national convention of fraternity Lex Talionis Fraternitas of San Beda Law school on Saturday (August 18).<\/p>\n<p>Sison said the President was in coma since Sunday night although the report is still being verified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0&#8212; President Rodrigo R.
