2.0<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nova Scotia\u2019s new Labour Market Priorities Stream issued its first invitations Wednesday, targeting Express Entry candidates with eligible work experience as early childhood educators and assistants.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 314 invitations were issued to eligible candidates in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal Express Entry pool<\/a> with at least two years of work experience in National Occupational Classification (NOC) 4214, <em>CIC News<\/em> has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Lynette Macleod, spokesperson for the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration, told <em>CIC News<\/em> that a candidate\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)<\/a> score was not a selection factor.<\/p>\n<p>Macleod said Express Entry candidates who received a Letter of Interest now have 30 days to submit a complete application to Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Scotia announced the creation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/nova-scotia-express-entry-labour-market-priorities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Labour Market Priorities Stream<\/a> on August 2, saying it will be used to invite Express Entry candidates who meet \u201cmarket-identified labour shortages\u201d to apply for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry manages the profiles of candidates in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-skilled-worker-immigration.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Skilled Worker Class<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Skilled Trades Class<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who are approved for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia will receive an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry-comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0score and move to the head of the line for an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttracting and retaining skilled workers will help increase access to important services such as Early Childhood Education, while helping grow our population,\u201d Macleod told <em>CIC News<\/em> in an email. \u201cThis will strengthen our communities and our provincial economy \u2014 benefiting all Nova Scotians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The province\u2019s Office of Immigration describes the stream as \u201cflexible\u201d and said the specified occupations could vary from draw to draw depending on the Nova Scotia\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new stream is a good example of how Nova Scotia is innovating and fine-tuning its use of Express Entry,\u201d said David Cohen, senior partner with the Campbell Cohen immigration law firm in Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 30-day window in which to submit a complete application is also a good reminder of how important it is to be proactive and prepare your documents well ahead of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In order to be considered through Nova
