(YANCY LIM\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 With the proposal to shift the form of government to federalism now underway, Malaca\u00f1ang is optimistic that a bill seeking to make barangay (village) officials regular government employees will be passed into law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect that it will be passed into law because it is important that we should push federalism and we recognize the importance of the local governments,\u201d Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in an interview over dzRH radio.<\/p>\n<p>He said the proposed House Bill 7393 or Magna Carta for Barangay recognizes the important role of the barangay officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo this is in recognition that because the role of the barangay officials are very important.
