(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cgttch\/photos\/a.2550345434991039.1073746168.683693348322933\/2550358581656391\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cgttch\" target=\"_blank\">Tanauan City&#8217;s Hope\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA, Philippines \u2014 Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili on Monday morning was shot dead during a flag-raising ceremony at his town\u2019s city hall.<\/p>\n<p>Halili, joined by city hall employees, was in the middle of singing the country\u2019s national anthem, \u2018Lupang Hinirang,\u2019 when a gunshot emanated from the scene, a Facebook Live video streamed by Tanauan City Public Information Officer Gerry Laresma showed.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor was rushed to CP Reyes Medical Hospital and was initially reported to have been in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>However, a spot report by the Police Regional Office-4, stated that Halili was \u201cdeclared DOA (dead on arrival)\u201d after sustaining a single gunshot wound on his chest. He was declared dead at 8:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Supt.
