(PNA photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212; The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to develop a mobile app that will provide real-time traffic updates, flood alerts and information on disaster and emergency preparedness.<\/p>\n<p>The agency has signed a Memorandum of Agreement on Thursday with MediaQuest Holdings Inc. to deliver vital information to the public using information technology.<\/p>\n<p>MMDA and MediaQuest will develop a mobile application that will provide access to traffic situation along major roads in Metro Manila that will enable motorists and commuters to plan their trips.<\/p>\n<p>The app will also deliver information related to road conditions, road repairs, floods, Pasig River Ferry System and other public transport schedule, earthquake preparedness updates, and other useful information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sure this platform will help prevent the spread of disinformation and help increase public\u2019s participation at a higher level,\u201d MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said during the signing ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur interest is to involve the public in the government\u2019s programs.
