{"id":167949,"date":"2018-06-25T06:21:51","date_gmt":"2018-06-25T10:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=167949"},"modified":"2018-06-25T06:21:51","modified_gmt":"2018-06-25T10:21:51","slug":"karapatan-wants-ph-out-of-un-human-rights-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/06\/25\/karapatan-wants-ph-out-of-un-human-rights-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Karapatan wants PH out of UN Human Rights Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government\u2019s constant denial of the Philippines&#8217; issues on human rights violation should be viewed as a ground for the country to be removed in the United Nation Human Rights Council, rights group Karapatan said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Karapatan Secretary General Cristina Palabay, the country does not deserve to hold the vice presidency of the Human Rights Council\u2019s Bureau, let alone be part of the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Philippine government responds to domestic and international criticism on its human rights violations with thuggish hubris, blatant denial of its crimes and utmost disregard of international human rights instruments and international humanitarian law.
