Saskatchewan\u2019s International Skilled Worker \u2013 Express Entry\u00a0sub-category has now closed, just hours after the first-come, first-served provincial immigration pathway reopened to 400 new applications.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program\u00a0(SINP)\u00a0opened the Express Entry-linked sub-category<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, June 13, and said it would close as soon as it reached its intake limit of 400 new applications.<\/p>\n

That limit was reached approximately three hours later.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0International Skilled Worker \u2013 Express Entry\u00a0sub-category<\/a>\u00a0operates on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning the 400 individuals who are quickest to apply can submit their applications.<\/p>\n

Express Entry candidates who are nominated by Saskatchewan for permanent residence receive an additional 600\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) points, effectively guaranteeing them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n

Second opening of SINP\u2019s Express Entry sub-category in 2018<\/h3>\n

This was the second time in 2018 that the SINP opened its Express Entry sub-category to applications. The previous opening occurred on January 10 and also met its intake quota of 400 applications quickly.<\/p>\n

Saskatchewan says it will accept a maximum of 2,600 applications through the\u00a0International Skilled Worker \u2013 Express Entry\u00a0sub-category in 2018, which means the SINP could still\u00a0accept another 1,800 people between now and the end of the year.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0International Skilled Worker \u2013 Express Entry sub-category\u00a0is particularly attractive because it does not require a job offer or a connection to Saskatchewan. Instead, it enables the SINP to nominate individuals who are already in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship\u00a0Canada (IRCC)\u2019s\u00a0Express Entry\u00a0pool<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eligible candidates must possess the necessary education, skilled work experience in one of Saskatchewan\u2019s 36 in-demand occupations, language ability, and other factors to help them settle successfully in Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n

How to apply<\/h3>\n

In order to apply under this category, candidates must first submit a profile to the Express Entry pool and then create an account through the SINP\u2019s online system.<\/p>\n

Interested Express Entry candidates will need to obtain all the\u00a0required documents<\/a>\u00a0and complete all the required provincial and federal forms.<\/p>\n

All required documents must be clear and easy-to-read copies\u00a0<\/strong>of the original documents.\u00a0 If your documents aren\u2019t in English or French, you must submit the following:<\/p>\n
