Antonio Trillanes hits back at President Rodrigo Duterte for saying that the senator will be \u201cshot dead someday\u201d due to his arrogance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGo ahead, Mr. Duterte, order somebody to shoot me and, I assure you, it would lead to your end,&#8221; Trillanes said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte\u00a0on Thursday\u00a0slammed Trillanes for putting up a facade that he is \u201ctough and threatening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The president said: \u201cHe believes that he&#8217;s the only tough one around because nobody fought him back. But there will come a day that someone will shoot him because he&#8217;s arrogant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unfazed with Duterte\u2019s remarks, Trillanes fired back, saying: &#8220;Now, as to his threat that somebody would shoot me someday, only Duterte would want me dead because it irks him that somebody dared to stand toe to toe with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trillanes stressed that in his entire public life, he \u201cstood up and fought against the crooked, the corrupt, the oppressors and abusers of power like Duterte\u201d and that \u201che never bullied the helpless and innocent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said that due to his steadfast condemnation, Duterte becomes \u201cweak and powerless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>(DAILY NEWS ROUND UP FOR 06\/ 11 \/18)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
