(<a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10156457287624939&amp;set=pb.520119938.-2207520000.1528702865.&amp;type=3&amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/roilo.golez\">Roilo Golez\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rogelio &#8220;Roilo&#8221; Golez, who served as national security adviser under the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo, died at 71 due to a heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>Golez&#8217;s death was confirmed by his son, Para\u00f1aque Vice Mayor Rico Golez on dzRH on Monday, June 11.<\/p>\n<p>According to dzRH report, Golez went live on Facebook as he was having a radio interview on its <em>Damdaming Bayan <\/em>program<em>\u00a0<\/em>along with Cesar Chavez to discuss the Chinese military aircraft that landed in Davao City.<\/p>\n<p>ABS-CBN News also reported that Golez was supposed to have an interview over ANC early Monday about the country&#8217;s maritime row with China; however, it did not push through as Golez &#8220;felt unwell.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, some senators expressed their sympathies to the bereaved family upon hearing the news.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Juan Edgardo &#8220;Sonny&#8221; M. Angara, in a tweet, said he was \u201cvery surprised and saddened\u201d to hear of Golez\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCondolences to vmayor [vice mayor] @ricogolez and family. Was a highly respected member of the House. RIP [Rest in peace] Manong Roy,\u201d Angara wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Victor \u201cJV\u201d Ejercito, for his part, said, \u201cWith my deepest sympathies VM [vice mayor] @ricogolez on Cong. Roy\u2019s passing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fari\u00f1as also said, \u201cIt is with sadness that I post here that [Minority Leader] Danny Suarez just called me with the information that our former colleague, Roilo \u2018Roy\u2019 Golez, passed away due to [a] heart attack. May his soul Rest in Peace!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Chavez, who earlier interviewed Golez, tweeted, <em>\u201cNakakagulat. Nakakalungkot. Nakapanghihinayang! Paalam (S<\/em>hocking. Saddening. Regretful!
