Patrick Lavallee said having information available immediately will result in quicker action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will give all police officers \u2014patrol officers and investigators \u2014 quick access to photos while very often we had difficulty obtaining them (in the past),\u201d said Lavallee.<\/p>\n<p>He said it was an issue he often had to deal with when he worked as a patroller.<\/p>\n<p>A grant from telecommunications giant Telus allowed for the development of the free app, which is available for most Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MONTREAL \u2014 Getting the right information to authorities is paramount in the minutes following a child&#8217;s disappearance.
